Water Pressure and Storage Levels Returning to Normal, Water Main Repairs Complete

Current status: Lifted (as of 15/09/2026, 15:16). Older update notes in the history text may be outdated.

The City of Yukon utility crews have completed repairs following a water main break that previously impacted system water pressure across the city. While water pressure is now fully restored, the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality recommends, as a precaution, to boil water for 72 hours after repairs, which concluded around 8:00 PM on September 3, 2026. Residents are also asked to continue temporary water conservation through Sunday evening. All-clear (City of Yukon, OK, 07.09.2026, 15:25): The boil water advisory has been officially lifted as of September 6, 2026, and normal water use may now resume for all residents and businesses. No water contamination was found during the incident. Update (City of Yukon, 07.09.2026, 15:30): The advisory was issued due to leaks and a loss of pressure in the water towers. Update (okcfox.com, 09.09.2026, 23:35): The incident was caused by multiple watermain breaks due to pipe deterioration attributed to erosion of surrounding shale.
