Crews working to restore normal water supply in Ardfinnan following treatment plant interruption

Uisce Éireann reports water supply disruptions and low reservoir levels for Ardfinnan Village, Tipperary, and surrounding areas after high turbidity levels led to an automatic treatment plant shutdown. Customers are reminded to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure, and an alternative water supply is being arranged. Operational teams are working to restore the plant to full production, but normal water levels will take some time to be restored. This is due to temporarily high aluminium levels following a problem at the Goatenbridge Water Treatment Plant. Update (Ireland-Live.ie, 10.10.2026, 09:00): The Do Not Consume order now specifies Grange, Newcastle, Ballyclerihan, parts of Cahir, and Kilnamack West areas of Waterford, and boiling tap water will not make it safe. Alternative water supplies also require boiling before consumption.
