Nachdem im Leitungswasser der Stadtwerke Passau coliforme Bakterien entdeckt wurden, die mutmaßlich Folge des Hochwassers sind, hat das Gesundheitsamt Passau eine Abkochordnung erlassen. Diese gilt für das komplette Stadtgebiet Passau und weite Teile der umliegenden Gemeinden Tiefenbach, Salzweg, Ortenburg, Vilshofen und Ruderting sowie für Gebiete des Wasserverband Inn-Haibachtal und ZV Unteres Inntal. Zur Desinfektion wird das Wasser nun chloriert; die Anordnung gilt bis auf Weiteres.
