Do Not Consume Water Advisory in effect for infants in Fort McKay
Indigenous Services Canada and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo issued a Do Not Consume Advisory on June 29, 2026, for infants, children up to 13, and pregnant women in Fort McKay, AB. This is due to fluctuating manganese levels from the Fort McKay Water Treatment Plant exceeding Canadian Drinking Water Guidelines. Bottled water is available, as boiling does not remove manganese.
